RTX will not be satisfied until its workplace is safe from hazards, its employees are injury free, its products and services are safe, and its commitment and record in protecting the natural environment are unmatched. We meet our commitment by continually improving our comprehensive environment, health, and safety programs and management system. We provide the leadership and resources to continuously improve performance through innovative initiatives and a proactive safety culture. At a minimum, we comply with all applicable laws and regulations and often set company standards to go beyond local requirements. We integrate environment, health, and safety considerations into all aspects of our business.
Objectives
Provide a Workplace Free of Hazards.
We are committed to eliminating injuries and illnesses by providing a safe workplace, free from unsafe conditions and actions. RTX believes that this is essential for a sustainable business.
Protect the Environment and Conserve Natural Resources.
As stewards of our environment, we are committed to driving pollutants in manufacturing processes to the lowest achievable levels and conserving natural resources in the design, manufacture, use and disposal of products and the delivery of services. We strive to minimize greenhouse gas emissions, reduce our energy and water consumption, and waste generation.
Continuously Improve Processes and Programs.
We strive to continuously improve our environment, health, and safety programs. We establish standards and goals, and measure our performance. We operate our facilities with the goal of maximizing efficiency and reducing environment, health, and safety risks. We strive to design environment, health, and safety principles into our processes and products. We proactively evaluate and comply with global chemical and product environmental requirements so that our businesses can grow and innovate in desired markets.
Promote Employee Participation, Communication and Partnerships.
We engage employees with the environment, health and safety program and provide opportunities for employee involvement both at work and in the community. All employees have a critical role to play in identifying opportunities for improvement. We openly communicate our performance, and we encourage partnerships with local organizations, academia, government and other interested stakeholders. We will work with governments and business associations to advance laws and regulations supporting our principles.
Demonstrate Leadership and Accountability.
Our leaders take ownership and accountability for environment, health and safety programs and hold operating managers accountable for safety and environmental performance and for providing leadership and required resources. We regularly report on our performance to the Board of Directors, our employees and other stakeholders. We are committed to following these principles because it is the right thing to do, it engenders pride in our employees, investors and other stakeholders, it allows us to meet our customers’ needs and expectations, and it helps drive our global competitiveness.
